Jayco unveils 50th Anniversary JRV-X campervan

Jayco Australia is celebrating 50 years – and looking ahead to the next 50 – with the release of the ‘50th Anniversary Volkswagen 22-2 JRV-X’ campervan. Based on the current VW Crafter TDI410 MWB van, the 50th Anniversary JRV-X is a limited-edition, with only 70 units to be built. Each is furnished with premium appointments inside, and finished in retro-inspired Oxford Blue/White outside.

Jayco says this striking campervan fuses the charm of classic VW campers with modern innovation, paying tribute to Jayco’s rich history, while delivering a premium RV experience. The two-tone exterior is reminiscent of VW’s iconic Kombi vans of the 1960s and ’70s, while the Oxford Blue and Natural Oak interior gives a fresh, modern edge to this camper’s wave of nostalgia.

“This release is a celebration of 50 years of RV manufacturing by Jayco,” said Nathan Matthews, Jayco Sales Manager for Motorised. “It’s a fusion of European internal styling and functionality, with an iconic two-tone VW platform - a nod to the Kombi vans that defined an era.”

Inside, the 50th Anniversary JRV-X has been designed with style and practicality in mind. With sleeping for two, the high-bed design allows for more efficient storage, while built-in features, such as the Dometic two-burner cooktop, Freshjet Lite air-conditioning, Thetford 152lt compressor fridge, microwave, Nautilus hot water system and a 24-inch TV/DVD combo with soundbar ensure travellers can enjoy every creature comfort.

Other standard features to make life on the road easier include a 300Ah lithium battery, 200W solar panel, 105lt fresh water tank and 65lt grey water tank, making the JRV-X as functional as it is stylish.

The all-wheel drive confidence of the reliable Volkswagen Crafter, combined with Jayco’s renowned design and build quality, makes this a model that turns heads and raises the bar in its category.

Power comes from VW’s Bi-Turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel, delivering 130kW and 410Nm torque. This is matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission and 4MOTION AWD, ensuring performance and control.

Features such as blind spot monitoring, front and rear park assist, and a rear-view camera enhance safety and convenience.

Available now through Jayco dealers nationally, the 50th Anniversary Volkswagen 22-2 JRV-X campervan is priced from $159,990, plus on-road costs. This limited-edition release is expected to sell out soon.
