Announced earlier in 2026, the Volkswagen Amarok V6 W600 has arrived in Volkswagen dealerships, with pricing that places it at the top of the locally available range. The most expensive Amarok you can buy ($9,000 more than the V6-engined Aventura), the W600 was developed in conjunction with Walkinshaw Automotive Group, with the goal of improving the dual cab ute’s on-road performance, rather than off-road ability. Volkswagen call the W600 the “ultimate driver’s ute”.

While the 184kW/600Nm 3.0-litre V6 engine, ten-speed automatic transmission and 4MOTION permanent all-wheel drive system are unchanged for the W600, Walkinshaw Automotive Group have comprehensively reworked the chassis, suspension and rolling stock.
The factory suspension has been replaced with a bespoke set-up using Koni shocks with ‘Frequency Selective Damping’ technology. In addition, Walkinshaw have adjusted the suspension valve calibration. A new 22mm rear anti-roll bar has been fitted, with the steering response sharpened for improved cornering stability on the road at speed.
The W600 rides on model-specific 20-inch flow-formed alloy wheels, with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV road tyres as standard.

Cosmetic and convenience elements applied by Walkinshaw include a signature light bar, unique front-end and grille accents, dual side-exit exhausts and Walkinshaw badging. Powered deployable side steps and puddle lamps that project the Walkinshaw shield are also fitted.
Inside, the W600 gains special sill plates and floor mats, along with branded Savona leather sports seats that feature embroidered headrests.
"The Amarok V6 W600 is about much more than appearance. It's a vehicle that has been engineered from the ground up to elevate the driving experience while retaining all the capability, practicality and refinement that customers expect from Amarok," said Nathan Johnson, Brand Director Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
"When you consider the breadth of the package, from the bespoke Walkinshaw-developed suspension and chassis calibration to the premium interior and distinctive exterior enhancements, the W600 offers customers a uniquely engineered performance ute unlike anything else in the segment."

The suspension and chassis changes applied by Walkinshaw have no impact on the Amarok V6’s 3500kg braked towing capacity, while payload is only fractionally reduced to 954kg – 3kg less than the V6 Amarok Style. Trailer Assist and towing technologies are part of a broader technical package that includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Traction Control, ESC, Hill Descent Control and a full safety suite.
Pricing for the Amarok W600 starts at $91,990 (+ ORCs), with optional equipment limited to metallic paint (+$1,100) and a power roller tonneau (+$3,450). See your Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles dealer for more details.
