Victoria's BIG Caravan & Camping Show rolls into town
"Caravanning and camping is accessible to anyone. It's lots of fun, very affordable and every holiday can be vastly different from the last," said Victorian Caravan Show organiser Peter Wright. "There are thousands of wonderful holidays to choose from, and the great thing is that once you've invested in the basic equipment, your holidays don't have to cost the earth." Today there are more than 380,000 registered caravans and recreational vehicles in Australia and an estimated 80,000 caravans, motor-homes and other RVs on Australian roads at any one time.
The largest caravan and camping show of its type in the southern hemisphere - Victoria's annual Caravan Camping & Touring Supershow was recently staged at the Caulfield Racecourse. Sponsored by CIL Insurances, the Victorian Caravan Show showcased everything you could need for your next outdoor holiday. There was a sensational array of the very latest caravans, motorhomes, campers and tent trailers, Australia-wide tourism and destination information, tons of camping and outdoor equipment, plus a great range of 4-wheel drives and accessories.
"This year we had the largest display of motorhomes ever assembled in Victoria featuring Swagman, Winnebago, Sunliner, Jayco, A'Van and more," said Show Organiser Peter Wright. "Visitors could preview over 75 different caravan and RV brands and many manufacturers released their 2008 models," he added. New exhibitors include Accessavan who released a caravan designed specifically for the disabled. There were free daily seminars hosted by industry experts and celebrities, plus activities for the kids.
The Victorian Show was ten per cent bigger than last year and featured over 350 RV?models, the latest in luxurious motor homes and caravans, plus over 50 makes of camper trailers. Touring tents, off road accessories, alternative power, fridges, camping and outdoor gear, towing equipment, fishing gear and canoes were all on show.
This was truly heaven for anyone contemplating buying or upgrading a camper or caravan.. the biggest problem being that there was just too many brands and models to choose from!
