Variety Club 4x4 Bash
The NSW Variety Bash departs Sydney on August 6th 2011 and journeys 5,423kms to arrive at Broome WA on August 17th. The trip detours along the way to include visits to Longreach and Mt Isa before completing the 11-day journey to the most westerly point of Australia.
This event is designed for 2WD participants, with starters restricted to pre-1974 vehicles, dressed up as outrageously as possible! The event is not a race or rally, but a drive in the Outback raising money to support kids in need.
For 4WD enthusiasts you can put your vehicle to the challenge in the Variety "Rocks to Riches" 4WD Charity Adventure. This unique holiday provides the opportunity to find out what your 4WD was designed to do, while turning your off-road fantasies into realities.
The Variety 4WD Adventure was the brainchild of Variety, the children's charity, to create a real adventure for like minded 4WD owners with the feel good benefit of raising much needed funds for kids in need. This year, the Variety 4WD Adventure will take place over six days, from November 6th - 11th, 2011 and will cover 1,615kms. The Adventure is a "Rocks to Riches" experience, travelling from South West Rocks in NSW to Dorrigo, with overnight stays in Grafton, Tenterfield, Toowoomba, Kingaroy and finishing up at Noosa Heads in Queensland.
Coming into its sixth year in 2011, the Variety 4WD Charity Adventure is the ultimate 4WD holiday promising a true adventure from the comfort of your car complete with beach runs, bush trails, creek crossings, fabulous scenery, exceptional food and wine, resort style accommodation and a unique opportunity to form new found friendships. Dubbed a 'turn key' event meaning turn up, start and everything is done for you - Variety's 4WD Adventures are ideal for 4WD owners who are not confident to venture on an off-road, un-assisted drive themselves.
The all-inclusive cost of $6,850 for two people, includes a $3,000 fully tax deductible donation to Variety, to purchase urgently needed equipment for Australia's special needs children. The all inclusive cost includes all accommodation, official meals, entertainment, merchandise, "happy hour" gatherings and assistance from Variety's skilled team of event officials including 4WD experts and mechanical support personnel.
Unlike most other charitable organisations, which focus on a single problem, Variety knows no boundaries in helping children in need and supports children suffering with 74 different conditions. They also set themselves apart from many other charities as that can lay claim to giving 90 cents of every dollar donated directly to helping kids in need.
During Variety's vibrant 35-year history in Australia, it has granted over $160 million in specialised medical equipment and services to individual children, children's medical facilities, children's emergency transport services, schools and support organisations. Variety also runs 4WD charity runs in other States and details are available from local Variety offices.
