Raptor to go to Supercar Racing
They also announced that the upcoming Ranger Raptor will join the series as ‘official recovery vehicle’ and launched Ford performance as the umbrella organisation for all Ford competition, motorsport and performance activities in Australia.
The Raptor, Ford’s high-performance, race-spec version of the Ranger, will join the series later this year as the “Official Recovery Truck” at all Supercars rounds.

That role will extend into the 2019 Supercars season, with the Raptor also responsible for recovery duties across all the support categories at these rounds – not just the Supercars. That means that, potentially, the Raptor will be the recovery truck for stricken Rangers in the SuperUtes series that now runs racing versions of dual cab utes from Mitsubishi, Holden, Ford and Toyota instead of the old car-based utes.
We’re excited that the awesome Ranger Raptor, the Ford Performance super truck, will be our official recovery vehicle at all Supercars events later this year,” said Sean Seamer, CEO Supercars. “I am looking forward to working closely with Graeme Whickman and his team at Ford and congratulate them on the launch of Ford Performance in Australia.”

Exactly when the Ranger Raptor will make its recovery truck debut has not been revealed, but it’s more than likely to be at the Bathurst 1000 this October – the biggest event on the Supercars calendar and the ultimate date in Australian motorsport.
