Nissan to drop 'old' Patrol
Replaced by both the Y62 Patrol that was launched in 2013 and other models in Nissan's broad SUV range, the older Patrol has been a part of Nissan Australia's model range for almost 20 years, but can't match the emissions or ANCAP ratings of more modern SUVs.
Remaining stocks of the Y61/UY61 currently in dealerships are now in 'runout' mode and expected to sell out before the end of the year.
"These decisions are in line with our commitment to running a robust business in Australia, led by strong products including Qashqai, X-Trail and Navara," said Nissan Motor Co. (Australia) Managing Director and CEO Richard Emery.
Nissan says that while the older Patrols will be phased out, after-sales parts, service and technical support will continue to be offered (through the Australian authorised dealer network) once the last units are sold.
