Nissan JUKE confirmed for local release
Nissan Australia hope the JUKE will deliver them an even greater share of the Small SUV segment, 20 per cent of which, Nissan already has a representative in, in the form of the popular Dualis.
The JUKE combines distinctive, dynamic style with the proportions of an SUV. Its look is underlined by the unique headlight design and motorcycle-inspired interior centre console.
First details
Australian customers will be able to choose from two engine types: a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine; and a DIG (Direct Injection Gasoline) turbocharged petrol engine of the same capacity.
The 1.6 petrol is fitted as standard to the entry-level JUKE ST (2WD), while the responsive turbo powers the JUKE ST-S (2WD) and Ti-S (AWD).
Standard fitment on the JUKE ST is a smooth-shifting five-speed manual, while the Juke ST-S comes fitted with a six-speed manual. Nissan's next-generation X-TRONIC CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) is standard fitment on the range-topping JUKE Ti-S, but is available as an option on the JUKE ST.
"This is an exciting, fun-to-drive car that we expect will bring many new customers to Nissan," said Peter Clissold, Executive General Manager of Marketing at Nissan Australia.
"I'm confident Australian buyers of Small SUVs will find the all-new JUKE to be exceptional value. Each grade in the JUKE model range has a compelling mix of standard equipment in a vehicle rich in stand-out styling and dynamic performance."
The launch of the Nissan JUKE is the latest instalment in Nissan Australia's series of new-model introductions. Following the JUKE, Nissan will launch two more new models before the end of the year, including an all-new Pathfinder SUV and the Altima mid-size sedan.
More details about the sporty JUKE urban crossover will be announced closer to its release.
