Nissan adds ST+ to Qashqai

For $30,790 (+ ORCs) - a $1,300 premium over the entry-level Qashqai ST it’s based on - the ST+ adds a 7.0-inch touchscreen with digital radio, sat nav with traffic alert, a 360 degree Intelligent Around-View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, power-folding and heated door mirrors, and privacy glass.
“Reducing the gap between the QASHQAI ST and ST-L will please many of our buyers who wanted more than what we offered on the entry grade, but weren’t in the market for a higher spec vehicle,” said Nissan Australia managing director Stephen Lester.
“It’s a competitive market, so it is important that we react to this to ensure buyers remain with the Nissan brand.”
Powering the new ST+ is the same 2.0 litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 106kW and 200Nm as the rest of the Qashqai range, with the same Xtronic Continuously Variable transmission driving the front wheels - standard on all Qashqai grades except the ST, which offers a 6-speed manual option.
Cargo capacity is listed at 430 litres with all seats occupied, increasing to 1,598 litres with the rear seats folded.
Other standard features on the Qashqai ST+ include 17-inch alloy wheels, halogen headlights, LED DRLs, an electric park brake with auto hold, push button engine start, cruise control and Bluetooth phone connectivity.
Standard safety kit includes six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, two second row ISOFIX points, plus an assortment of Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies, including Intelligent Emergency Braking with Forward Collision Warning.
