Mopar customised Jeeps tackle Moab Jeep Safari
This year Jeep has returned to the event with six specially customised vehicles. The special Jeep include the 'Wrangler Pork Chop', which sees a number of items, including doors, top, tailgate and sway bars literally get the chop. The Compass Canyon features Freedom Drive II drivetrain, lift kit and large Mickey Thompson Baja tyres. The Jeep Overland is equipped with ARB steel roof rack, awning, refrigerator, OME suspension and rear ARB air locker.
From this touring model to the extreme off road ready Wrangler Renegade equipped with 6.4-litre Hemi V8, winch, ProRock axles, ARB lockers and 4.10 gears. Four-inch lift kit, 335-inch Baja Claw radials, and a host of Mopar gear complete this impressive vehicle, both in looks and off-road capability.
The Wrangler JK-8 Independence takes its styling cues from the 1980s Jeep Scrambler, with Mopar providing a kit for do it your selfers to convert a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited into a pickup truck. It is similarly equipped with heavy-duty driveline, 4.5-inch lift kit, ProRock 44 front axle and Dana 44 rear axle, both with 4.88 gears. It is shod with 37-inch BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM2 tyres.
Finally there is the Wrangler Blue Crush, inspired as a high speed off road racer and rock crawler. At its core is a Mopar 426 cubic-inch HEMI with 540 horsepower. The all-aluminium V8 is paired with a 545RFE performance transmission and a gear-drive transfer case. It has a performance off-road suspension with internal bypass shocks, front stabiliser bar and full hydro steering. There is also a full cage, race seats and gigantic 39-inch tyres.
