Lexus Launches All-New NX 300h SUV
The NX 300h comes highly specified as standard and includes many features that are optional on some of its rivals, including satellite navigation, reverse camera, power tailgate, 18-inch alloy wheels, smart entry and start, 10-speaker audio with digital radio, Enform connected mobility*, tyre pressure warning sensors, 60:40 rear-fold seats and a spare wheel.
NX 300h also brings with it the first hybrid powerplant to the compact luxury SUV segment.
Using just 5.6-litres per 100km and emitting only 131g of CO2per kilometre, NX 300h meets Euro 5 emissions standards.
The outstanding figures are achieved via the adoption of an innovative and proven Atkinson cycle 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine - teamed with an electric system consisting of one electric motor in two-wheel drive and two in all-wheel drive models.
Combined, the system develops 147kW of power.
World first, Lexus first and Australian market-firsts on the NX 300h include a pull-type door handle with concealed key barrel and power folding second row seats for an SUV.
Australian market firsts include the first hybrid powertrain in its class and the first to offer rear cross traffic alert in its class.
Lexus firsts include all-new 360-degree panoramic monitor, and slip and yaw rate feedback for the E-Four AWD system.
This outstanding suite of technology is wrapped up in one of the most powerful examples of exterior design to grace any road-going Lexus.
It has been influenced by the properties of forged steel - with the design said to resemble a single billet of steel.
Inside, the NX 300h's cabin provides a comfortable and highly practical space. Its designers wanted to break away from traditional SUV cabin design and instead provide a cockpit-like space to house all of the innovative technology.
NX 300h is available in three models, including Luxury, F Sport and Sports Luxury - with the F Sport receiving unique visual and driving dynamic enhancements.
Lexus Australia chief executive Sean Hanley said the NX 300h encapsulates the efforts of a design and engineering team that went beyond SUV convention.
"When designing the all-new NX, the engineers and designers wanted to offer consumers something unique - something that stood out from the crowd and offered innovative on-board technology while meeting the practical requirements of SUV customers," Mr Hanley said.
"The result is an outstanding vehicle that, much like the pioneering RX and RX hybrid models before it, will provide customers with a fresh, new perspective on a compact SUV.
"With its outstanding design, innovative on-board technology, unparalleled standard specification and legendary Lexus reliability, the NX is the perfect vehicle for today's urban explorer," Mr Hanley said.
