Jeep Wrangler 'Dragon' now available locally
Described by Chrysler Group Australia as an "enhancement" of the Unlimited Overland (four-door), the $51,000 Dragon is identified by specially designed interior and exterior tweaks to provide a one-of-a-kind appearance.
Based on the 3.6-litre V6 petrol Overland, the Dragon special edition is an appearance package that uses the same powerplant and 5-speed automatic transmission as the Overland, which equates to 209kW and 347Nm of torque.
The Dragon's exterior styling package includes the following:
-Grille and headlight accents in Dragon bronze satin gloss
-Front and rear Jeep badges finished in Dragon bronze satin gloss
-Dark charcoal metallic Dragon logos covering bonnet, front fender, front and rear doors and B-pillar on passenger side
-18-inch alloy wheels finished in Dragon bronze satin gloss
-Hard spare wheel cover with Dragon graphic in dark charcoal metallic
-Mopar fuel filler door with Dragon bronze bolts
-Body-coloured three piece hard top and premium black sunrider soft top
An all-black exterior finish with bronze graphics and highlights is exclusive to the Dragon, and the only colour option available with this special edition.
Inside, the Dragon edition features a bunch of bespoke features and upgrades, including:
-Black Nappa leather upholstery facings with Dragon bronze contrast stitching
-Embroidered front seats with laser-etched embossed pattern
-Leather-wrapped steering wheel with Dragon bronze spoke accents
-Door grab handles finished in Dragon bronze
-Vent rings finished in piano black
-Dragon applique on grab handle and instrument cluster
-Boot floor mat with embroidered pattern in accent stitching
Black interior trim is used throughout, contrasted with bronze highlights, repeating the theme of the exterior.
Uconnect® phone, GPS navigation media centre and reverse camera are fitted as standard as part of the package.
Off-road capability is still impressive, with the Wrangler Dragon featuring 223mm of ground clearance, 35-degree approach angle, 22-degree breakover angle and 28-degree departure angle.
The Dragon can also negotiate city streets with ease and comfort thanks to dual purpose Bridgestone 255/70R18 Dueler BSW all-terrain tyres.
Fiat Chrysler Australia CEO and President Veronica Johns said Wrangler Dragon represented a striking halo in the highly capable 2014 Jeep Wrangler line-up.
"The Dragon edition takes the key strengths of Wrangler and takes them in a bold new styling direction for a selective, individualist buyer," Ms Johns said.
"This limited edition model announces itself with unique style whether in the city or on tough off road trails."
Wrangler Dragon is priced at $51,000* and is available now.
