Jeep Patriot scores 5-star ANCAP safety rating
ANCAP reports the Jeep Patriot "scored well in each of the physical crash tests, offering a high level of protection for occupants," adding that the crash test outcome was a "great result for Jeep".
"The Patriot has proven it too is a safe choice for consumers," said ANCAP Chairman, Lauchlan McIntosh.
The Jeep Patriot scored 15.94 out of a possible 16 in its side-impact test, and 13.79 out of a possible 16 in its frontal offset test, along with receiving an overall whiplash rating of 'good' - ANCAP's highest possible rating.
The result follows a five-star ANCAP rating for the all-new Jeep Cherokee, which scored an impressive 36.16 points out of a possible maximum of 37.
Commenting on the results, Veronica Johns, Fiat-Chrysler Australia President and CEO, said: "The ANCAP rating, and similarly impressive crash-test results around the world, are a direct result of Jeep's focus on driver and passenger safety. The results prove price doesn't have to be a barrier to safety."
The Patriot is currently priced at $25,500 drive-away.
