JAGUAR F-PACE AUSTRALIAN PRICING ANNOUNCED

Australian deliveries of the five-seat F-Pace, Jaguar's first SUV, will commence from Q3 of 2016, with pricing starting from $74,340 RRP, ranging up to $120,700 RRP.

Competing against the likes of BMW's X3, Audi's Q5, Porsche's Macan and the new Mercedes-Benz GLC in the mid-size luxury SUV sector, ten basic F-Pace variants will be offered - in Prestige, R-Sport, Portfolio and S spec levels - with a special 'First Edition' also available, with either diesel and petrol power, identified by unique details and produced in limited numbers.

Powerplant options include a 2.0-litre 'Ingenium' four-cylinder turbo-diesel, 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel or 3.0-litre V6 petrol, with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and Jaguar's in-house AWD system common across the range. An RS-spec 5.0-litre V8 is unconfirmed for the F-Pace at this stage.

Described by Jaguar as a "performance crossover" rather than a SUV, the off-road ability of the F-Pace centres around its torque-on-demand Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) system. Biased towards rear-wheel drive agility and handling character, IDD can transfer torque to the front wheels, delivering the benefits of extra traction for on-road performance, or off-road grip for poor surfaces and bad weather.

Added to this is Adaptive Surface Response (which identifies the type of surface and optimises the mapping of the vehicle's powertrain and Dynamic Stability Control system), All Surface Progress Control, Torque Vectoring and Low Friction Launch (launch control).
