Increased towing capacity for Mazda BT-50
Up from 3,350kg, the 150kg capacity increase applies to all BT-50s produced from January, 2013.
As a result, Gross Combined Mass (GCM) rises to 6,000kg, representing an increase of 50kg, and maximum towball download rises by 15kg to 350kg.
Mazda Australia's national marketing manager, Alastair Doak, said: "Towing performance is high on the agenda for any utility buyer and with BT-50 now being an equal class-leader in the field it will no doubt satisfy the demands of our customers."
The improvements in towing capacity and GCM were achieved through chassis-strengthening measures. Combined with the BT-50's already impressive 470Nm of torque, Mazda say that new BT-50 owners are better-prepared for more towing possibilities than ever before.
The upgrade comes at no extra cost, with pricing unchanged across the BT-50 range.
