Honda reveals pricing for new HR-V SUV
Powered by a 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, combined exclusively with Honda's Earth Dreams Technology CVT auto transmission (no manual trans is available), the HR-V will be available in front-wheel drive only, with unique styling, but in the vein of the recently-upgraded CR-V.
The three HR-V grades are VTi, VTi-S and VTi-L, the latter of which is also available with ADAS - an enhanced vehicle safety package that adds Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning and High Beam Support System.
The HR-V's exterior design features sharp, dynamic lines that, according to Honda, link the sleek upper body with the stable and planted lower body. Inside, the HR-V is reasonably spacious, with Honda's unique 'Magic Seats' system that enables 18 different configurations.
Safety technologies include City Brake Active System and LaneWatch blind spot monitoring, in addition to the VTi-L ADAS features already mentioned.
Pricing starts at $24,990 for the entry-level VTi, rising to $27,990 for the VTi-S, then $32,990 for the VTi-L, while the VTi-L with ADAS is the range-topper at $33,990. All prices are manufacturer's list price only and do not include on-road costs. Metallic paint is a $575 extra cost option across the range.
"The HR-V is incredible value," said Honda Australia Director, Mr. Stephen Collins. "We are confident this vehicle will be well placed to battle it out in this highly competitive segment."
