FEATURE – Bronco BAJA FORGED by LGE-CTS Motorsports

While the other partners for Ford’s blast of the 2021 SEMA show provided one custom Ford Bronco, LGE-CTS Motorsports in California were tapped to provide two, delivering one unit based on the Bronco Sport and the one pictured, which is based on a Bronco Outer Banks series four-door.

Every year, the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show in the USA presents the newest and best from the automotive aftermarket industry. And while it’s a trade show first and foremost, the customised and modified cars, SUVs and 4x4s that exhibitors put on their stands make it a massive custom car show, too.

Those customs are based on all manner of vehicles, new and old, big and small, rusty and sparkling, but often, it’s the “hot” new vehicle of the moment that gets the most attention. In 2021, that was Ford’s Bronco.

There were accessorised new Broncos everywhere at SEMA 2021, including six that Ford commissioned from partners or created themselves as part of a wider display of 40 unique Ford-based project vehicles, to showcase Ford Performance Parts and Ford Licensed Accessories.

LGE-CTS Motorsports have a background in the development of off-road competition vehicles, but they’re also custom and show car builders for the likes of Ford, GM and KIA.

Their recent work includes the bodywork and paint on a classic Bronco for Jay Leno that was unveiled at SEMA in 2019. The work that LGE-CTS Motorsports did on that project led to them being commissioned to build the unit pictured for last year’s SEMA show.

Based on a four-door Outer Banks series Bronco, this creation is described as mixing the requirements for off-road adventure with modern amenities and uses several products from BAJA FORGED, which is an LGE-CTS Motorsports sub-brand.

The bumpers, wheelarch flares and spare tyre carrier are all from BAJA FORGED, while an ICON Vehicle Dynamics 3.0 lift kit and Ford Performance Parts off-road rock lights have also been fitted.

Inside, LGE-CTS Motorsports added a fridge, GFA cargo area protector and all-weather floor mats. Gear from the Ford Licensed Accessories catalogue includes a premium JBL sound bar, cargo organiser, tailgate folding table and under-floor safe.

As well as building, painting and outfitting custom projects like these, LGE-CTS Motorsports can also design them, including bringing initial concepts to life though renderings and developing them all the way through to the finished product.
