CRD Fuel Enhancer
They run incredibly fine tolerances, and are highly stressed due to enormous operating pressures and high temperatures. Compared to older technology diesel fuel systems, they are totally unforgiving when it comes to fuel contamination. Very small amounts of water or contamination will wreck pumps
and injectors.
But the damage doesn't always stop with injectors and pumps. Sticking injectors can cause gross over-fuelling resulting in excessive heat and melted pistons! Start thinking $10,000 to $20,000 for an engine, and you'll quickly realize that your vehicle could well be uneconomic to repair! Treat any injector rattle very seriously indeed!
Cost Effective Maintenance have specifically developed their CRD Fuel Enhancer, to provide exceptional cleanliness, enhanced fuel lubrication, and superior rust protection. It addresses rattles, and provides smooth, clean operation of fuel pumps and injectors. Used routinely, it will increase the service life of fuel systems and minimize the potential for costly fuel system failures.
Case History:
During final development stages, we trialled CRD Fuel Enhancer on a Ford 2.4L CRD engine for 2 years. At around 50,000km this engine had occasionally produced a rattly pinging noise under acceleration from cold, which would disappear after a km or two.
With time, the rattle increased, but by around 70,000km a severe and harsh rattle emerged. It became extreme within 3 days, and sounded like the engine was in its death throes! At that stage, CRD Fuel Enhancer was first added to the diesel.
The rattle decreased immediately, and disappeared completely within 100kms. It is believed an injector was sticking open allowing excess fuel to cause severe detonation. Damage was avoided, and at 140,000km (70,000km after the first rattle), the engine is still going strongly, rattle free, with the original injectors and fuel pump.
CRD Fuel Enhancer's strong lubrication, superior deposit control and exceptional anti-rust protection make it highly recommended as a routine preventative step for CRD engines. It restores operating performance and optimizes fuel economy. While it's designed specifically for Common Rail Diesels, it is suitable for all diesel engines. Just add it to the diesel at a mere 10mL per 80L.
Many Common Rail Diesels are also prone to building high levels of soot in the oil. These engines will benefit from using our Flushing Oil Concentrate. Likewise, sticking EGR's (exhaust gas recirculation valves), and the consequent carboning up can be controlled with the FTC Decarbonizer.
