2022 Brisbane 4x4 Show scheduled for March
After last year’s event was a near sell-out, despite the pandemic, the National 4x4 Outdoors Show Brisbane has confirmed its return for 2022, with new attractions, a larger event footprint and a promise that this year’s show will be the largest-ever display of the best from Australia’s favourite pastimes.
Scheduled for 18-20 March - a month out from Easter - the timing makes it ideal to stock up on new gear ahead of that Easter long weekend getaway.
The Brisbane Showgrounds will once again host Queensland’s premier outdoors lifestyle event, with the show expanding its footprint within the Showgrounds this year.
Following last year’s introduction of online-only ticket sales with specific admission times, entry to the 2022 National 4x4 Outdoors Show Brisbane will once again be via pre-purchase online tickets ONLY. Pre-purchase sales opened on 6 February (go to: 4x4show.com.au/Brisbane/buy-tickets to purchase).
Combining top products from the 4x4 aftermarket industry with the latest in camping, caravanning and accessories, the National 4x4 Outdoors Show Brisbane will also see the outdoor adventure, travel and tourism sector represented, along with plenty of live entertainment, informative presentations and interactive displays.
“With Australians continuing to look to holiday locally, the National 4x4 Outdoors Show is once again shaping up to be the largest local gathering of the industry,” said Jon Perry, Event Director.
“Despite the pandemic impacting last year’s Show, by many measures, it was our biggest ever event, and in response, we have grown the footprint of the site this year to include an all-new building.
“Alongside this, the Show has continued to evolve, with a concerted focus on educating and informing visitors, presenting value for both people new to the outdoors world, as well as experienced veterans.
“In addition to the wide range of tips, advice and insider hacks, there will be thousands of the latest products on display, with the usual complement of show-only specials and bargains.”
Of the new attractions for 2022, the ‘Offroad Hotel’ will serve BBQ treats with a side of live music and great comedians. This fresh innovation for the National 4x4 Outdoors Show is also set to feature demonstration sessions focussed on camping and outdoor activities.
The ‘Bushcraft Zone’ is another 4x4 Show debutant, where visitors can learn the fundamentals of wilderness skills, ensuring that next trip into the bush is a success.
Also new, ‘Garage Talks’ will focus on the essentials of four-wheel driving, including trip preparation, towing, safety, terrain, electronics, tyres and more.
Finally, this year’s 4x4 Show will host the annual ‘Camper Trailer of the Year Awards’ for the first time ever, with a range of categories recognised.
Of the returning attractions, the Outback Stage is always a crowd favourite and will see the finest and funniest personalities from the outdoor lifestyle inform and entertain. Scheduled presenters this year include Jase Andrews and Simon Anderson from All 4 Adventure, Graham and Shauno from 4WD 24-7, Sam Eyles from Built not Bought, Jamie Hazelden and Jess Edwards from the Off Road Adventure Show, Matt Baker from The Explorer Life, Barney Lewis from Legendex and Mr. 4x4 himself, Pat Callinan.
The Action Arena, like the Outback Stage, is always a hit and has been one of the longest-running attractions at the 4x4 Show, with non-stop thrills and spills served up by the nation’s leading daredevils on two wheels and four wheels.
Other returning attractions include Luke’s Reptile Kingdom, where the public can get hands-on with a wide variety of fascinating reptiles, while also learning important snake safety tips.
After last year’s successful debut, the Show N Shine is coming back for 2022, where a wide assortment of off-road rigs will battle for honours in a variety of categories.
Opening times for the 2022 National 4x4 Outdoors Show are:
Friday, 18 March - 8AM-6PM
Saturday, 19 March - 8AM-6PM
Sunday, 20 March - 8AM-5PM
Tickets are only available online and sold with dedicated entry times. This is to ensure a cap on the total number of visitors at the venue each day, in line with Queensland Health regulations. It means that you cannot enter the show before the date and time on your ticket.
General admission tickets start at $20/person for adults (aged 16+) and $17/person for pensioners. Two-day bundle tickets for Friday and Saturday or Sunday are also available for $35/person each.
Children under 16 years are admitted free, but pre-registration is essential and kids will count towards the daily venue capacity limit. The amount of free kids’ tickets each day is limited, so once the allocation of free tickets is exhausted, kids 16 and over will require a pre-purchased adult general admission ticket to enter the show.
