VW Amarok XL, XXL now available

Created under VGA’s factory-approved ‘Body Builder Program’, the extended chassis Amarok is available in ‘XL’ and ‘XXL’ sizes, and in dual cab and dual cab chassis forms.

Although exclusive to four-wheel drive Amaroks at this stage, the extended chassis is available on 4-cylinder and V6-engined versions of the dual cab, as well as automatic and manual transmissions.

The Amarok XL extends the wheelbase by 310mm, equating to a 315mm longer tub – from 1555mm to 1865mm – and an increase in overall vehicle length to 5564mm.

The Amarok XXL extends the wheelbase by 650mm, to increase tray length to 2205mm and total vehicle length to 5904mm.

Depending on the version selected, the longer chassis adds between 25 and 85kg to vehicle weight, with the ESC recalibrated to suit the longer wheelbase.

While the extended chassis conversion was originally developed in the Netherlands, all XL and XXL Amaroks released for the Australian market will be produced by Adaptive Manufacturing in South Australia.

Pricing (above the base vehicle cost) starts at $10,595 for the XL dual cab chassis, rising to $21,995 for the XXL dual cab utility. Importantly, all new Amaroks purchased with either the XL or XXL conversion retain the VGA 5-year/Unlimited km warranty.
