Holden unveils redesigned Captiva
Combining the previous Captiva 5 and Captiva 7 into one design (available in both five and seven-seat configurations), exterior changes for the MY16 upgrade are largely confined to a new grille and front fascia design - which now also incorporates LED daytime running lamps as standard - as well as body-colour side cladding.
There's also a refreshed interior look for the mid-size SUV features, with a cleaner appearance to the centre infotainment panel. Holden's MyLink system and a rear-view camera continue as standard features, with the latest Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity added to the equipment list for this upgrade.
"Captiva's new MyLink system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone projection technology is a class leading infotainment system allowing customers complete control in their car," said Holden's Electrical Group Engineering Manager, Joe Sawyer.
"Using the system's 7-inch colour touch screen, steering wheel controls and voice command technology, customers are able to send, read and reply to text messages and calls, access music and navigate using Apple/Google maps effortlessly."
There's also what Holden says is a broad range of optional accessories, allowing Captiva buyers to add extras to suit their needs and lifestyle.
The December 10 Star Wars fan event, which took place at the Sydney Opera House, saw Harrison Ford host an exclusive Q&A with fans and media, whilst the new Captiva showcased state-of-the-art hologram technology, which had been developed by the creators of Star Wars' newest recruit - the 'BB-8' droid.
Fans also had the opportunity to win the special (NSW-reg) "MY BB8" number plates that the display Captiva wore as part of Holden's social media competition by taking a photograph with the new Captiva and using the dedicated hashtag #CaptivaMission.
The revamped Captiva arrives in Holden dealerships from January, 2016.
