This exceptional 1951 Series I 80” Land Rover has just undergone an extensive body-off restoration, completed to a highly authentic standard. Great care has been taken throughout to preserve its originality and character, avoiding the overly restored appearance often seen. The vehicle has been in the same ownership since 1996 and has always been dry stored, contributing significantly to its excellent condition. It remains very original, with the only notable upgrade being the installation of a later Series IIA 2¼-litre engine. Body and chassis numbers are matching. Recent work and features include: New wiring harness New braking system New dual windscreen wipers New (old stock) Zenith carburettor (not Chinese replica) New fuel pump Distributor professionally overhauled with new ignition coil Five new Avon Traction Mileage tyres and tubes (6.00–16C, as originally specified) New rubber components and seals throughout New ignition switch Turn indicators fitted for improved usability New sliding window kit The vehicle retains its original seats and is fitted with its original hard top. Bows for a soft top are also included. An outstanding example that drives superbly, equally suited to a discerning collector or an enthusiast seeking a usable classic. A rare opportunity to acquire a beautifully restored, highly authentic Series I Land Rover with long-term ownership history.
