Seller's Description
A unique opportunity to own a very special Land Rover. Now that Land Rover has abandoned their traditional market for the Defender to produce an expensive high tech toy, here is an opportunity to own a traditional Land Rover with custom built features. Built along the lines of a British trials machine this vehicle started life as a 1964 Series IIA but has been modified to include improvements developed for the later model Range Rover and Defender. These improvements were initiated with the fitting of a shortened 1976 Range Rover chassis and new rear cross member with recovery points. This has the advantage of coil spring suspension offering improved axle articulation. This chassis installation also allowed for the inclusion of 4 wheel disc brakes from the Range Rover as well as power steering. Later modifications include fitting a Rover 3.5 V8 engine with a Nissan MQ Patrol gearbox. Engine modifications include Cam Dynamics Stage 1 camshaft, high volume Buick oil pump gears, Ignition Developments Bosch Conversion distributor, Holley carburettor with a Carter high volume fuel pump and Holley pressure regulator. There are many more modifications, too numerous to list here. All modifications have been professionally engineering and approved by the authorities in Victoria and South Australia. Currently registered as a historic vehicle but will sell with 3 months South Australian registration. For further information please contact Mr Graham Brammer.
